The Krewe

Introduction

Krewe of Kicks is a multi-media organization that shares its love for sneakers with the world through blogs, videos, teaching guides, and retail merchandise. Based in New Orleans, one of the most culturally-enriching cities in the world, this union of sneakerheads - termed “The Krewe” - adds its unique flavoring to this unique melting pot of the sneaker community. Creating a space for sneakerheads (like you) to enjoy content and expand your knowledge of this industry is what “The Krewe” aims to accomplish. From OG’s who have been in the game for decades to the new kids who idolize Travis Scott and have integrated themselves into this community through his influence, Krewe of Kicks has something everyone can take a piece of and in doing so, all the while acquiring a unique skill, experiencing powerful emotions of nostalgia, or just being a part of this tight knit community. So, whether you’re the person who used to go to local mom-and-pop shops back in the day when sneakers that now go for a significant amount of money were just sitting on the wall, or you’re the one who just started copping dunks when taking “Ls” on SNKRS became the norm, we promise that you will look forward to immersing yourself in sneaker media and tapping into the culture. We’re here to trade stories, reminisce about the past, discuss current events, and anticipate future releases. In other words, we are here to connect; to hear each voice; to bring together sneakerheads from all walks of life to one platform. This is more than just a media outlet or a business providing a product to a consumer... it’s that clubhouse or that local shop or that skate park where you feel that collective presence… akin only to the unity of a Mardi Gras parade... So welcome to New Orleans. Hop on the float. Join “The Krewe”.

Social Media

To keep content flowing through different outlets, Krewe of Kicks has created multiple social media platforms for our community to engage with. Starting with the Krewe of Kicks Instagram page, you’ll get an opportunity to interact with posts and receive high-level content on a single platform that you will not get anywhere else: Consistently posting images that display various silhouettes and colorways from different brands so our sneaker community can enjoy and gain an artistic appreciation of the sneakers we wear. Pictures and videos that showcase sneakers on-foot in combination with how “The Krewe” styles their socks, jeans, sweats, and other below-the-waist garments designed to inspire creativity. So, in addition to exposing our followers to a diverse array of sneakers, Krewe of Kicks will tap into the fashion industry to bring light to small or lesser-known clothing brands that you may have not yet heard about. You do not want to miss some of the sneaker imagery shown through the lens of the beautiful, historic streets of New Orleans and wherever else “The Krewe” may venture.

Beyond the images, the ‘Guides’ tab near the top of the Instagram page allows us to create “how-to’s'' for any sneaker related topic. Followers can click the ‘Guides’ tab to access posts that give advice on everything that encompasses what a sneakerhead should know or needs help with. Everything from where to get certain sneakers, to what sneakers you should be copping based on your style, and even to something as simple as how to clean your sneakers. You’ll even have first access to the Krewe of Kicks blog through a URL in the Instagram bio and, of course, to Krewe of Kicks merch.

However, our content does not end on Instagram. Krewe of Kicks has a Twitter page, Facebook page, Snapchat, and will soon be delivering content on Youtube. Certain content overlaps across these platforms so that the sneakerhead community is assured not to miss out on any of our main posts and features. Keep an eye out for how these platforms provide different content and what you can take from each social media account.

Conclusion

But what makes Krewe of Kicks different from all of the other sneaker blog pages? Simply put, New Orleans. Getting a snapshot of everything that includes the uniquely historic architecture of the city, the jazziness of the French Quarter, the mouthwatering flavors of the cuisine, and more, is the way in which this platform combines the rich culture of the city with the growing culture of sneakers. But images are just a medium that help glide along the surface of what is actually a deep sea of stories, community, and ever growing life inside the New Orleans sneaker scene. Everything that includes local shops, resellers, events, and more will be captured on this platform. “The Krewe” will explore the depths of what makes this city one of the greatest in the world.
