The Krewe's Business Update, Socks, and More

The four (4) sock colorways released in the past year.

Krewe of Kicks originated in April of 2021 with the purpose of creating a sneaker community through media to influence a culture that is not known for paying much attention to fashion or footwear. New Orleans is a city of art, music, food, and more, a huge melting pot of culture that ‘The Krewe’ is looking to add some flavor to. Within that melting pot is a small portion of people that make up a community of sneakerheads who consume footwear products and the culture that comes with being a consumer. To feed their appetite, ‘The Krewe’ has continued to gradually make strides to provide content for any sneakerhead to indulge in. However, the hope is that a person who is not familiar with the sneaker industry can learn to appreciate the art, culture, and feeling of community that comes with sneaker culture through this content. For a little over a year now, the content has consisted of imagery and writings that sneakerheads can enjoy and that newcomers can learn from. The pictures posted online and on social media focus on two main subjects: hot sneakers in today’s sneaker game and the city of New Orleans. To supplement the imagery, it’s important that the community can also read up on hot sneaker related topics, New Orleans sneaker news and culture, and the latest sneaker trends through the blog page. Additionally, sneakerheads have access to the latest major releases coming each month and week on the release page. Through media, Krewe of Kicks will continue to water the seeds that will grow into a tree of a sneaker community.

Over the past year, Krewe of Kicks has established itself as an up and coming brand that is starting to garner more eyes and attention. Since November of 2021, ‘The Krewe’ has released four sock colorways with the intent to give our followers and supporters the opportunity to feel a part of this community and movement. Influenced by the culture of New Orleans, the socks have been given themes based on ‘The Krewe’s’ love for coffee, which is common in the city, and the festive holiday of Mardi Gras. The objective has always been to blend sneaker culture and New Orleans culture. You can learn more about these socks by reading the articles "Krewe of Kicks Socks - Koffee and Kream" and “Mardi Gras 22' Sock Pack”. These socks are available for purchase online today, and they are moving fast.

Recently, the online articles and sneaker release information have been receiving good feedback from supporters who have engaged with the content. The most notable recognition came from someone with one of the biggest, hottest names in the sneaker industry who we recognized in a previous article as having a major impact at New Balance, Joe Freshgoods. After posting our article about New Balance’s rise in the sneaker industry, Freshgoods reposted the Instagram post acknowledging the article. Whether he read the article or not is uncertain, but his repost was very encouraging from ‘The Krewe’s’ standpoint. Because Freshgoods has become a sneaker industry celebrity, his story post brought more eyes to the website and to the online catalog of articles in particular. If you have missed out, go back and read some of the articles that have been written in the past few months. There’s an abundance of education and inspiration within those writings.

Joe Freshgoods reposted "The Rise and Future of New Balance" article post.

So what’s next? Well Krewe of Kicks is now officially a limited liability company (LLC) with the ability to sell products online, and with still more content and apparel to come, ‘The Krewe’ is poised to build upon what has happened in the last year. As mentioned previously, ‘The Krewe’ is always making moves and building upon the foundation that has been set over the past year. From now until this time in 2023, expect the company to evolve and look more extensive. The content will broaden, more sock colorways designs will be released, and the community will continue to grow. Stay tuned for what’s to come. In the meantime, head to our shop and dive into the release calendars and the blogs.
